DRIFTER
Adrift,
rooted now in rocks and sand
No longer floating
No longer wrapped in a blue sparkling embrace
Driftwood,
To and fro,
dapples of light
blue warmth on brown skin
Moored secure,
caught between stone and sand
drying and climbed on
feet away from blue bliss
unable to escape back
Stuck, Sinking, Caught
stones as companions
sand as brother
Settling, sighing, groaning
into a new environment
yearning decreasing
I am a land person now
Adrift,
rooted now in rocks and sand
No longer floating
No longer wrapped in a blue sparkling embrace
Driftwood,
To and fro,
dapples of light
blue warmth on brown skin
Moored secure,
caught between stone and sand
drying and climbed on
feet away from blue bliss
unable to escape back
Stuck, Sinking, Caught
stones as companions
sand as brother
Settling, sighing, groaning
into a new environment
yearning decreasing
I am a land person now
