The summer has come to an end, though looking at seattle weather that would not seem to be the case (for which I'm thankful). We've had a hectic start back into september and are looking forward to the more structured time after a summer of fun.
Kimi will be voting! He's excited about that fact. In typical fashion I tried to make a lovely surprise for him yesterday when he came home from his day. I can usually cook and bake but whenever it comes to making something for a special occasion I come up sub par. Maybe I'll just give up. I've had many failed banana cream pies on his first day back to school and yesterday the banana bread was well, Jonah threw it on the floor so that should tell you something. We plan to go celebrate over Sushi one of these nights soon.
I've started a Bible study with a pretty great kids program attached. The commitment seems daunting to me (it's weekly, and there's a lot of homework!) so the fact that Layna came home from the study yesterday singing and pulled this out made my day:
"Do not be afraid, your prayer has been heard, Luke 1:13". She was singing it to the tune for frere jacque. She then went on to tell me after some prompting that Hannah was praying to a baby to have a baby whose name is Samuel. (Praying to God or a baby Layna? Praying to a baby and for a baby mom). I have to say that this is making me very happy to be going and much more motivated to participate.
Jonah is working on some words but does not have any problems making his needs known in a very emphatic manner. When displeased this usually results in wails of grief accompanied by throwing himself on the floor. When happy he starts to pant with a huge smile on his face.
The below pics are mostly taken at the puyallup fair. All Jonah really wanted to do was sit in front of the ferris wheel and watch it....what a great attraction ;)
Love! It sounds like you are all set for a great season. I can't believe how grown up L and J are looking. Happy back to school, and happy voting!
