Next week I go on leave as they call it here or vacation as I used to call it in other places I've lived. It can't come soon enough at this point. The last two months have involved a lot of personal growth and a lot of challenges. As I contemplate (in my scatter-brained way) Christmas, and advent I cannot help but be drawn back to my favorite verse in Psalms.

"I am sure of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

In a season where I see death and tragedy on a daily basis it becomes easy to focus on all the negative; it is good to be reminded of this promise. Maybe I am part of spreading this goodness, I hope so. But even if I am not, I am comforted that God WILL spread his goodness whether seen or unseen by me.
