P.O.R.T.L.A.N.D

I have just returned from a wonderful relaxing girls weekend in Portland. Our husbands were gracious enough to let their wives leave for a much needed get-away. The anticipation of a trip for me is always great and the trip itself is usually too short. Both were the case here. I can't wait to return and explore this city. Thanks ladies!

P. Powell's books
A huge highlight. What other book store in the states has 3 whole shelves of dutch literature including 4 books by my favorite author (that I have been looking for!) Not to mention that the store in and of itself is a gem. Barnes and Noble, you are dead to me.

O. vOOdOO donuts
Much of our weekend was based on food. We waited in line for quite a while for these spunky donuts! They are closing and moving due to customer demand so it was great to see the original before shutdown

R. Relaxing
I think that one of the most wonderful things was waking up at a late(r) hour. Grabbing a book and rolling over and reading for a few minutes. Yawning and then sleeping a little more. All this with no interruptions or crying or whining or to do list

T. Treasures
The market was a great chance to reconnect with creativity. I am amazed at what people can think up! Like Truffle shaped soap
L. Loved
As seen in the bathroom stall. They were glad we were there

A. A happy hour
Not that I could drink, but...It's been forever

N. New Stories
I had a great time hearing stories and finding out things that I didn't know before. So many times as mothers conversations revolve around our kids. It was wonderful to get to know these ladies on a different, fun, and non-kid level

D. Drink and Dine
I love restaurants. Going to a new place, sizing it up, looking at the decor and really enjoying the food without time constraints
