It was truly a blessing having my parents here for 6 weeks. Today is day 1 without them and I have to say that I'm a little more then nervous.

The last six weeks contained:

-thoughts on Seattle rain and weather
-many afternoons in the garden, weeding, removing rocks, planting (see post below for pictures)
- a few scarce days in sunny weather
- one visit to snoqualmie falls
- two bbq's
- three movies
- many walks to the beach and elsewhere
- a couple of dates for Kimi and I
- a trip to Victoria for my parents and a food tour of Seattle
- many hugs and kisses from Layna
- about as many "no, I don't want to's" from Layna
- lots of cuddling with Jonah through sleep and fussy times
- meals provided by parents every day
- dishes done by parents every day
- a clean house
- a waxed car
- a new dishwasher
- "gezelligheid" (untranslatable but wikipedia gave it a good try:) a Dutch abstract noun (adjective form gezellig) which, depending on context, can be translated as convivial, cosy, fun, quaint, or nice atmosphere, but can also connote belonging, time spent with loved ones, the fact of seeing a friend after a long absence, or general togetherness. The word is considered to be an example of untranslatability, and is one of the hardest words to translate to English.^[1] Some consider the word to encompass the heart of Dutch culture
