I am loving advent/christmas december this year. There is so much flurry and bustle and business and hecticness, but somehow I feel very untouched by it all which is a beautiful place to be. We bought a christmas children's advent book (two weeks late so we are playing catch up) so it's been fun to sit in the evening by the tree and read about a little bear journeying to bethlehem (another blog will be forthcoming about how awesome and dear our reading time is to me)... Every day the little bear meets new people who he helps, or gets helped by as he makes his way through forests, deserts, rivers following the star. Layna has been very excited by the story and it's fun to see her start to "understand" christmas in her own way.
We've been blessed by advent cookies (thanks Jamie, they lasted a few hours before they were all gone) some fun outings as a family and just general fun. We went out to see the boats come to lowman beach with carolers and then went and saw some crazy houses with lights and had hot chocolate in the car.
