Life in Germany

What has happened so far:

Jonah:
- has celebrated his birthday too many times. Tomorrow he gets to make muffins at his daycare to share with the kids. When asked if we could bring anything for him to share the answer was no. I am kind of in love with his teacher and daycare.
- loves his little brother with the enthusiasm and lack of constraint you would expect from a 4 year old. His first announcement was "the baby is home. He is alive. He is sleeping"
- Got pulled out of swimming. Oh Germany... the lifeguards here are in the definite belief that crying should be handled by pulling the kid apart into a corner, not letting his sister hug him (which she tried) and not letting Oma near him. Too much for me to watch and handle. So no swimming. It was quite a show
- love his ball room at daycare with the slide that goes into a big ball pit

Alex
- turns a week old today
- Is really a dream and probably the cutest baby I've ever seen (not that I'm biased... at all...)
- loves a good pacifier (thank goodness)
- loves a good swaddled
- doing everything a baby his age is supposed to be doing. Eating, pooping, making weird faces and sleeping.

Kimi
- starts back at school today after getting home and being sick with a horrible virus for two days
- Is missed so incredibly much by all of us and vice versa.
- has a lot to do before the end of the school year

Ayumi
- is making some friends at school. It has been hard for her not to be the smartest, brightest best etc. at everything in her class but good as well. She misses all her friends but she is one tough girl
- Is crazy about Alex, though her first question was Is it a boy or did we get a girl?
- has an attitude especially when it comes to homework
- can spin a story like no-ones business

Jess
- is sleeping or trying to as much as possible
- currently has vomit from baby stuck in more than one place in her hair
- needs a shower
- working on her masters
- trying to coordinate buying things we will need in Kigali for baby from here through Kimi
- trying not to think about nanny care and what that means
- really wants to exercise
