I've only been here a little over two weeks so I'm sure these will change.
1. A prom dress is completely acceptable work attire.
2. Rwandans will cook rice and beans outside over a brazier of coal and have a room just dedicated to shoes.
3. Your car will pass inspection if the hand break doesn't work but will not if there is a ding or rip in the upholstery.
4. I don't enjoy leaving my kids at home every day while I go to work
5. Showering is not a relaxing activity. It's just a way to get clean.
6. I am already sick of rice and beans. Kimi is in heaven.
7. Kigali loves its round-a-bouts. They are a free for all
8. I'm shopping more at supermarkets and boutiques and less at markets then I would have imagined.
9. I love having someone who cleans and does laundry.
10. I miss cooking but am thankful that at this time I don't have to think about it.
11. There is a store here called t2000 it's like an Asian Walmart or a glorified dollar store. But it has everything.
12. Rwandans love bathrooms. Many houses have more then one. It's useless if they don't work.
I had to laugh at #12...you are so right! Sounds like you are adjusting ever so slowly. I can not imagine being as strong as you are proving to be. You amaze me! Your children will have a lifetime of learning and appreciation! :)
